The assault caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
