The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Fighters Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within the city.

Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.

Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.

The traitor then paid off his debts and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each member has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires revenge.
  • The adventurer has experience in the region and advises that it is a nasty environment.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the group enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind too risky:

  • Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.

What’s Next?

According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Questers and Schemers tables.

Fans can look forward to finding out which players will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
